Chatham Saw Mill
Chantham saw mill is one of the biggest and oldest mills in Asia. It is a store house of timber like padauk, gurjan, marble, satin wood etc.
Samudika Museum is situated opposite to Andaman Teal house this museum creates awareness on various aspects of oceanic environment it displays a good collection of sells corals and few species of color full fishes.
Forest museum is situated at Haddo. It offers an insight in to the forest activities through scale models. It displays decorative pieces of woods like marbles, padauk, peauma, gurjan, satin wood etc.
This Museum is situated near Andaman water sports complex. It exhibits species of marine life peculiar to the islands and found in the Indo pacific and the Bay of Bengal.
Mini Zoo is situated at Haddo. This zoo has the rare species of endemic birds and animals.
Cellular Jail is located at Port Blair. It has three storeyed prison constructed by Britishers in 1906. It is a pilgrimage destination for freedom fighters. This colossal edifice has mutely witnessed the most treacherous of in humane atrocities by the convicts, who are mostly freedom fighters. Now it is dedicated to the nation as a national memorial. Museum, art gallery, photo gallery, light and sound shows are also here.
Science centre is an important spot to visit. This centre displays everything about these islands, specifically the genesis of these islands. The fun science gallery tempt one to play with them and explored the how and why of common scientific phenomena. Hands on easy to use such as roll a ball, press a switch, rotate a crank and amusing things happened.
After lunch and in the evening light and sound show will be at the cellular jail.
Day 2 :
Second day tour starts with a visit to North Bay and Ross Island.
North Bay is situated at the foothills of Mount Harriet. Private boat services are available from Port Blair. Its journey time is just 15 minutes. It is best place to visit the corals and marine life by snorkeling or with the help of glass bottom boats.
Ross Island takes ten minutes boat journey from Port Blair. Once upon a time it was the seat of British power and capital of these islands. At present it stands as a ruin of the bygone days with the old structure all most in debris.
Viper Island is situated inside the harbor of Port Blair. The first jail was constructed here during 1864 to 67, later abandoned after the construction of cellular jail. It has a gallows a top a hillock, where condemned prisoners were hanged. The tortures of this jail earned the notorious name viper chain gang jail. It provides the panoramic view of the harbor area, watching from the boats.
Day 3 :
On the third day we are departing from Baratang island and visiting to Mud volcano and limestone cave.
Baratang Island is about 100km by road from Port Blair. It lies between the south and middle Andaman mud volcano and limestone caves are very famous and attractive places, which could be seen with the permission of forest department.
We are staying at Rangat in the evening.
Day 4 :
Fourth day we are visiting to Mayabunder and Avis islands
Mayabunder is about 242 km by road and 157km by sea from Port Blair. It is situated in the northern part of the middle Andaman. The nature has scenic beauty and beautiful features. It is inhabited by the settlers from Burma, Bangladesh and ex-convicts descendants. It has a distinct culture beach at Avis islands Karmatang beach and mangrove lined creeks are the major attractions. We can view the nesting of turtles during the December to February season.
We are staying at diglipur in the night time.
Day 5 :
On the fifth day we are visiting to Ross and Smith Island, Staying at Diglipur during the night time.
Day 6 :
On the Sixth day we are moving from Diglipur and reaching the Port Blair in the evening and staying at Port Blair.
Day 7 :
On the seventh day we are visiting to Carbyn’s cove beach and departing to Havelock, sightseeing and night stay at Havelock.
Carbyns Cove is about 7km from Port Blair. It is an ideal place for sun basking and sea bathing. Some of the famous restaurants are available here.
Day 8 :
On the Eighth day we are sightseeing at Havelock Island and returning to Port Blair in the evening.
Havelock is about 50km by sea from the Port Blair. It provides idyllic resort in the lap of virgin beach and unpolluted environment. Camping facility is available near Radha Nagar Beach. Snorkeling and Scuba diving facilities are provided seasonally. Boat services are available from Port Blair daily.
Day 9 :
On the ninth day we are visiting to Wandoor Marine National Park and Jolly Buoy. We can have shopping in the evening around the city.
Wandoor Marine National Park
Wandoor Park is made up of open sea, creeks and 14 small and large islands. Viewing of rare corals and under water marine life through glass bottom boats, Scuba diving and snorkeling are a life time experience.
It is an island in Mahatma Gandhi marine national park. It offers us breathing taking under water corals and marine life. It is an ideal place for snorkeling, sea bathing and basking.
Visit to Wandoor Marine National Park and Jolly Buoy and in the evening shopping in the city
Day 10 :
We are returning to Airport on the 10th day.
