Newspapers and Printing Press

27 Magazines in English, Tamil, Bengali and Hindi magazines are published. The three dailies are the daily telegrams, (English) A$N Dweep Samachar (Hindi) and Andaman Herald (English). The Daily telegrams and A$N Dweep samachar are governed in English. Technological inventions and offset machines have increased the press standard. Weeklies, Fortnightlies and Monthlies (magazines) are all printed in ordinary press.

But still journalism has not gained much popularity among the people.
They have been for namesake until the present. There is a need for a well
Informed journal in both English and Tamil which should contain government polices and advertisements. There are about 25 printing presses.
Some are offsets. Raw materials such as paper, ink and spare parts for machines are bought from Chennai and Kolkata.
