Newspapers and Guides are sold in TamilNadu News Agency, Opp. Tamil Sangam, phoenix and Aberdeen Bazaar, Port Blair – 1 and also in Lakshmi Book stall, Dilanipore, Port Blair – 2. Allopathic medicines are sold in New Tamil Nadu Medicals, Near Bus stand, Aberdeen Bazaar, Port Blair – 1, and D.S.G & Sons, Aberdeen Bazaar, Port Blair – 1. There is a private hospital named Maraikayar Hospital, Vijaybagh Road, Junglighat, and Port Blair – 1. The address for the Government hospital is G.B. Plant hospital, Atlanda point, Port Blair – 1. Professional Couriers functions in Tamil Sangam Building, Phoenix Bay, and Port Blair – 1. The hotels where South Indian food is available are Annapoorna Cafeteria, Ananda hotel, Hotel Kattabomman, and New India café and all the hotels are located in Port Blair. For emergency a Municipal Council under the control of Mr.A.R. Marutharazan and a Public Grievance Cell controlled by K. Ganesan function in Port Blair. There is also another office named Andaman Tamil Sangam.

Documentaries about the islands are available free of cost at Andaman Dial House, Mega pod Nest/Tourist Home and Hornbill Nest. The video cassettes are available in private shops too. There is no restriction for selling liquor in the islands. There are plenty of shops which sell liquor. Star hotels have bar facilities. The cost of liquor is reasonable and less compared to the other states of India.

There are government authorized travel agents where in Maruthi and Ambassador Cars are available for rent. Sagar Tours and Travels (Pvt.) Ltd., a central government authorized center is located in Port Blair and it has its booking offices in Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Yet another travel agency named Island Travels is located in Port Blair which is also a central government authorized one. There is a head post office near the state library. The post office works from 9 in the morning till 3 in the evening. Government of India Tourist office in Port Blair and Directorate of Tourism which are the tourist offices in Port Blair. Two wheelers such as Scooters, Mopeds and Motorcycles can be got from T.S.G.Travels, Port Blair.
